Account Recovery and Password Resets

If you forgot your Roll20 password or need help accessing a compromised account, the please follow the steps below to password recovery.

If you are having trouble specifically where your password does not seem to be working, we recommend taking the following steps.

If you are not sure where to start or have not tried already, please make sure to give the password recovery tool a try. This will send an email to your address with steps to set a new password.

Not Receiving Password Recovery Email

If you have not received a password recovery email, make sure to check the spam folder.

If the email has not appeared in the spam folder, search for an email from "security@roll20.net"

If the email has still not appeared, try using the Password Recovery Tool again and double checking the email address for any typos or errors.


Password Recovery Code is Incorrect

If you are encountering this error, it is likely that the code that was used has expired. This occurs due to one of two reasons:

First, Password Recovery links are only valid for up to 24 hours. If your link is older than that, simply request a new one via the Password Recovery Tool.

Second, if you requested multiple recovery codes in a short period of time, they can be "threaded" and hidden within your email. Be sure to view the entire email and find the most recent timestamp and use that code specifically.


Password Reset Successful But Still Can't Log In

If you are having trouble with a recently reset password and are still unable to log in to your account, please try the following steps.


Disable Browser Extensions

Sometimes browser extensions can interfere with autofill logic and cause an error upon login attempts.


Log In From a Supported Browser

Try logging in specifically from both Chrome and Firefox to see if the login works. Similar to browser extensions, sometimes the autofill logic can have an error when attempting logins.


Enter Your Login Information Manually

This can help spot if there is an issue with the autofill information being incorrect or out of date.


Check Your Password Manager For Duplicates

If you are noticing issues with logging in using a password manager, it is possible that it has saved duplicate entries for your account. Ensure that there is only one entry and that the information is correct before trying again.


Clear Cache and Cookies

You may have a bad or corrupted session in your cookies/cache. Clearing these can help alleviate those interruptions in the login flow.
