The Object tool is used to select and manipulate objects on the map. Objects include images, doors, stairs, and text. To select geometry created with other drawing tools, use the Select tool instead.

Selecting Objects

Click an object to select it. A blue bounding box with handles will appear around it.

To select multiple objects, do one of the following:

  • Click and drag to draw a selection box around them
  • Hold Shift and click each object

To deselect, click anywhere outside the selection. Note that you cannot deselect a single object from a multi-object selection. To deselect all, click outside the selection and start again.

Moving and resizing

To move a selected object, click and drag it, or use the arrow keys to nudge it.

To resize a selected object, drag any of the corner handles.

Rotating

To rotate a selected object, drag the circular handle that appears above the bounding box.

Grouping

When multiple objects are selected, a Group tooltip appears above the selection. Click it or press G to group the objects. To ungroup, select the group and press G again.

Context menu

Right-clicking an object opens a context menu with the following options:

  • Duplicate
  • Bring to front
  • Send to back
  • Flip horizontal
  • Flip vertical
  • Delete

When multiple objects are selected, the context menu only applies to them if they have been grouped first. Right-clicking an ungrouped multi-object selection will apply the context menu to the individual object that was right-clicked.
