If you need assistance, you can contact our support team via our Web Form.

The Select tool allows you to select, copy, cut, and paste areas of a dungeon. Press B+8 to select it.

Making a Selection

Click to place points one at a time. Double-click to finish the selection.
With Snap off, you can still click to place points, but you can also click and drag to draw freeform shapes.

Working with selections

Once a selection is complete, a mini-menu appears above it with the following options:

  • Copy (⌘/Ctrl+C)
  • Cut (⌘/Ctrl+X)
  • Delete (Backspace / Delete)

After copying or cutting, press ⌘/Ctrl+V to paste.

Working with pasted areas

Once an area is pasted, you can:

  • Move it by clicking and dragging
  • Resize or rotate it using the handles around the pasted area
  • Flip it by right-clicking and selecting Flip horizontal or Flip vertical

Press Enter to confirm the paste, or Escape to cancel.

Pasting in Erase mode

You can paste in Erase mode to remove a copied shape from the dungeon. To do this, switch to Erase mode before pasting. This is useful for creating complex cutouts in a dungeon area.

Tool Settings

Mode

Sets whether the tool draws or erases. To toggle between Draw and Erase mode with a keyboard shortcut, press E.

Snap

When Snap is on, points align to the grid based on the current Division setting. To toggle snapping on or off with a keyboard shortcut, press S.

Division

Sets the snapping resolution as a fraction of a grid cell. Works the same way as in the Rectangle tool. To set the division with a keyboard shortcut, press Shift+S followed by a number representing the denominator. For example, Shift+S then 2 sets 1/2 cell snapping, and Shift+S then 3 sets 1/3 cell snapping.

Advanced techniques

The Select tool becomes especially useful for building and saving complex shapes.
Build a complex shape by constructing it outside the dungeon or on a separate layer, then cut and paste it into position. This is useful when adding a shape directly would require erasing work you have already done.

The Clipboard (found in the Sidebar Menu) allows you to save and reuse shapes you’ve drawn to be placed like stamps on any layer, in any style. To use, open the Clipboard panel and click Save Clipboard after selecting your shape.
