Marketplace FAQ

This page provides information on sending gifts, receiving a gift of account credit, and general marketplace purchases.

If you are looking to get started with a recent purchase quickly, check out this video guide on how to use your new purchase on Roll20!

How do I use something I just bought?
Great question! You can read about how to access and utilize your marketplace purchases via the applicable product type's article: Addons, Compendiums and Compendium Expansions, Art Packs, or Modules.
Why can I purchase the same product multiple times?
If you have purchased an item on the Marketplace, the purchase button remains active in case you want to buy it for someone else. See "Can I gift another player something from the Marketplace?" below for instructions on how to gift a marketplace item to someone else.
Can I use Subscription Credit to buy Marketplace items?
No, that Subscription Credit can only be used towards your Roll20 subscription renewal. If a player wants to gift you with Marketplace content, they will need to purchase it in full from the Marketplace listing instead.
Can I gift another player something from the Marketplace?
Yes! Find the item on the Marketplace and click the Purchase button. When on the Purchase Window, instead of selecting the "Myself" radio button for the purchase recipient, choose either "A Recent Player" (this will bring up a list of users you've recently played with) or "By Email". Then either select the player from the user list or type their email. Provide the payment information as required and once payment is completed, both you and your gift recipient will be given an email receipt for the purchase.
Do you have gift cards?
Unfortunately, Roll20 does not offer general-use gift cards at this time.
Why isn’t Dynamic Lighting working in my product(s)?
Dynamic Lighting is only accessible if the creator of the game holds a Plus or Pro Subscription. If you have a subscription and a product with pre-made Dynamic Lighting is not working correctly, please check the Bug Report forum for that product or submit a help request.
Something appears wrong with my purchase, what do I do?
Please contact us through our web form if you run into any payment or account issues while buying Marketplace items.
I can’t get my purchase to work!
Check the corresponding Troubleshooting section for your purchase type: Addons, Compendiums and Compendium Expansions, Art Packs, or Modules. If you’re still having trouble, please submit a help request.
If a product is no longer for sale, do I lose those items?
No! We will never take back content that you've already purchased (from any publishder). Once you buy it, it's yours forever.
